The knowledge that they hide from the public eye.

A Model for a Well-Informed Analysis of a Client in Clinical Therapy

Thoughts lead to intentions leads to speech leads to actions
That’s knowledge in eastern psychology.

The analysis of a client for a clinical therapist must implement the inference of the root causes to a person’s mental suffering in cases where the client is incapable of determining it for themselves. The root cause that induced the mental suffering is to be documented in the client’s record

In the first textbook on psychiatry, which defined the practice of mental health, it was declared that madness that was induced by the cruel and unjust treatment of guardians or caretakers are to be met with in the records of medicine.

"Observations and Inquiries of the Diseases of the Mind" by Benjamin Rush (1812).

The knowledge of different cultures, religions, and family backgrounds is to be applied to the understanding of how all those factors can affect the client.

The role of the therapist in clinical practice is to assist the client using methods such as:
  • Determining the root causes that induced the client's mental suffering:
    • If the root cause is removable: Determine a reasonable and reachable solution for the removal of the root cause that induced the client's suffering from the client’s attention or routine life.
    • If the root cause is persistent: Apply the knowledge of coping strategies to determine personal coping methods for the client.
  • Drafting written goals and methods that the client can use to achieve those goals in their personal lives.
  • Therapeutic speech which includes positive comments, appreciation, praise for achievements, the encouragement of positive thoughts, intentions, speech, and actions, as well as other methods to uplift, alleviate, and reassure the client of a benevolent perception of life.

The Analysis of the Root Cause that Induced a Person's Mental Suffering

In the analysis of the root cause that induced a person's mental suffering, an understanding of the person's background including their culture, religion, subculture, family background, and all other factors that can affect the person's mental suffering must be reached to gain a perspective into where that person is coming from. We are all capable of unique understandings of the world as well as unique interpretations of the same things.

An inspection into the root cause of the mental suffering is therefore to take place as was the initial intention of the practice of mental health in the first textbook on psychiatry in 1812.

Perform an inspection into the root cause of the mental suffering like the first psychiatrists did by asking them questions relevant to understanding the causes that induced the mental suffering. The root cause is to be documented with in the client's record. It should then be determined if the root cause can be removed or if it is an issue that is persistent.

The removal of the root cause
If the root cause of the client's mental suffering is removable, then determine a reasonable and reachable solution for the removal of the root cause that induced the client's suffering from the client's attention or routine life

Coping strategies
A coping strategy can be anything from squeezing a stress ball to deep breathing or even partaking in some of your favorite activities such as yoga or watching movies.

Since coping strategies are used when the root cause that induced the client's mental suffering cannot be removed, the main goal of coping strategies are to remove the attention away from the root cause of the client's mental suffering that has been documented in the record of the client.

Steps for written goals that are to be achieved to improve the client's personal life are to be drafted. Personal coping methods are to be devised using knowledge of the client and drafted in writing.

What to consider during an evaluation for personal coping methods for the client:
  • What does the client like to do as a hobby or possible activity that will serve as a distraction of their attention away from the issue that is causing them their mental suffering?
  • What would help the client make it through achieving certain goals that they currently don't achieve due to disfavor?
  • A reward based system for achieving personal goals.
